7 (who?)
Following a moonlit path,
dancing barefoot in the street
as the stars tickle my cheeks.
Light up my eyes to a beautiful world.
(don't stop dancing)

tip-toe through the puddles,
drink the rain
keep on moving,
dancing the night away

temptation stings the tip of your tongue
as butterflies fill the pit of your stomach
fluttering to the sound
of your echoing heartbeat.
(don't stop dancing)

As the skies fall on you
and the pressure builds up,
when you can kiss the regret
(don't stop dancing)

crickets chirping in the background
let peace into your soul
live the life you've created,
and never stop dancing...

The flow of the poem is excellent! I love how the poem can be interpreted in different ways between readers, and how everyone can take different message from it.
Definitely a favorite!
Ill work on a critique for it ;)

I find this a quite interesting work as it does relate a little to my world, yet which may be quite different to what you might imagine. It's summer here, & I go for runs [a dance of sorts] in the local forest, along sunlit paths, dealing with the heat, as the sun beats down. It's a great way of escaping the pressures of life, but at the moment it's not a lonely world. Like your crickets, the forest, on a hot day, is full of the sound of cicadas [link]. And they sing, in unison, loudly, very loudly, so loudly it can almost hurt your ears, but still contributing to a real, peaceful escape! Thanks for writing it... :sun:
